Metallic Epoxy Systems
Metallic epoxy flooring uses pigmented metallic powders mixed into the epoxy coating to produce a flowing, three-dimensional surface with visible depth and movement. The patterns shift as light changes across the floor, and no two installations look identical.
Sometimes called marble epoxy, 3D epoxy, or pearl epoxy, this premium system is designed for spaces where the floor itself contributes to the environment's aesthetic.
A three-dimensional, high-gloss finish for spaces where the floor is part of the design.
The Installation Process
How it works
Like every system we install, metallic epoxy starts with diamond grinding and concrete repair. No amount of technique at the topcoat stage compensates for poor substrate preparation, so we do not skip it.
After the slab is prepared, we apply a pigmented 100% solid epoxy base coat containing metallic powder pigments. While the coating is still workable, we use heat guns, rollers, and squeegees to move the pigments and create the swirling, layered effect that defines metallic epoxy. This is the stage that requires genuine craft and experience, where every floor develops its own character.
Once the effect is set and the base coat cures, we apply a high-gloss polyurethane or polyaspartic clear topcoat that locks in the pattern, adds UV resistance, and creates the deep reflective finish the system is known for.
We can show you sample boards and reference photos from past installations, but your floor will not look exactly like any of them. That is part of what makes it worth doing.
The Difference Between a Proper Install and a One-Day Kit
Why It Lasts
Hardware store epoxy kits work by applying a water-based, diluted coating over concrete that has not been mechanically profiled. The product sits on top of the slab rather than bonding into it, which is why it starts peeling within a year or two, usually accelerated by the first serious freeze-thaw cycle or an oil spill that softens the coating.
We diamond-grind every surface before a single coat goes down. It adds time to the process. It is also the reason we offer a 10-year warranty, and the kit-based contractors do not.
